What is a Learning Commons?
A Learning Commons is a learning space that is both physical and virtual, often with the library learning commons as the physical and virtual collaborative learning hub of the school. A Learning Commons is a place to collaborate, experiment, practice, celebrate, learn, work, and play. Some metaphors for the school library learning commons might be: learning laboratory, idea factory, studio, or even "great room" in the school and community. Our Learning Commons at Hixon Elementary also has a Makerspace! |
